Well, I'd hoped to avoid the F37 trip to the dealer, but last night while changing my oil, I noticed my rear diff was weeping, well more like crying. Also noticed that there was a pretty good sized drip forming on the bottom of the turbo. Couldn't tell where it was originating from so I made an appointment to get it checked out. Well this morning they informed me they are keeping my CRD till they can do the F37 also. No word yet however on the oil leak. I went round and round asking why I needed the F37 since about a month or 2 before it was issued, they replaced my TC, Front pump and cooler due to abnormal tranny noises. They said they are going to do it all again even though I am not having issues at the moment. Well I hope that they can atleast take care of the leaks while they are at it.... |

Dealer called this morning saying they would be keeping the jeep over the weekend waiting parts. Also said oil build up in CAC hoses was normal. They also tried to stick me with paying for the rear diff seal saying the jeep had seen rough service. The only dirt my CRD has seen is when the wind blows sand across the road. I requested a meeting with the SM and if he does not satisfy i will try to get a rep's number. |

My dealer told me three weeks ago that the pump and TC are back ordered for 2 months. Go figure....................... |

Talked to dealer and he was able to track down parts for F37, but the oil leak turned out to be the turbo which is on national backorder. So I'm still without my CRD for the time being. |

Well I got my CRD back yesterday with the old turbo. Dealer said to go ahead and drive it this way until they can get a turbo in to replace it. They also said they are replacing the solnoids(spelling?) that vary the vane pitch? Any way on the way home there were two diferent times while taking off from a stop where there was definately no or little boost, I called my dealer and he said that would happen off and on until everything is replaced. Should I drive it like this? They told me it is still operational and won't kick down with a loaner. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Someone else will have to answer to whether or not it is okay to drive like it is as far as the engine is concerned. But if acceleration is unpredictable....to me that is unsafe, you could very well get run over by a semi if you pull out thinking you are going to take off like normal and your Liberty just falls on its face. I wouldnt be too thrilled about that. |

Sounds like they are doing a replace-everything parts swap and hope the problem goes away. Are you getting no boost or a delayed boost? Do you know if they actually found the vaccuum pot working the vane pitch leaking? It would be rare for this part to fail. More likely to see coked vanes (sticking/not spooling) and not responding to the vaccuum pot or the actual vaccuum control valve assembly (mounted on the RH fender) malfunctioning. These are two interrelated parts but entirely different issues. Something as simple as a plugged vaccuum filter or a vaccuum leak could cause the same problem. If I had to do a quickie test, would start by removing the vaccuum filter and take a short test drive. A $5 filter might just fix the problem. |

I guess it could be really delayed boost. When it happened taking off from a stop the jeep really fell on it's face and I would have gotten hit if I was trying to pull out on a busy road, luckily no one was coming. The dealer said the the solnoids that were going to be replaced along with the turbo were contaminated with oil. Since I didn't see the turbo or the solnoids he was talking about, i suppose he could be BSing me. |

When we go into Denver, I have to remember about the turbo lag. In my one horse town with 1 stop light, it isn't a concern. |

We're talikng no or delayed boost for a good 5-6 seconds way longer than what I have experienced as turbo lag on this vehicle. |
