Post subject: | Chrysler Response Time |
I sent a last chance letter to Chrysler (to the address listed in the "Owner's Rights Under State Lemon Laws" book that comes with the vehicle) which they received on January 22nd according to the return receipt. On the 25th they sent me a generic form letter saying my letter "has been forwarded to a more appropriate area for their attention." That is the last I have heard from them. I stopped by the dealer and they also have not heard from Chrysler on the issue. I am wondering who else has gone through this process, and what is the typical amount of time it takes Chrysler to actually address the situation? |

Once you have informed them you "want to exercise" the lemon law procedure...I would bet that they are going to ignore you unless they get a letter from a lawyer. |

Sent my card in about the same time as you and have not heard a work from them. I called the DC customer no service number and the guy I talked to said that they got the card but there has been no action since. I am about to call a lawyer and turn it over to him. It is going to be about $500 out of pocket to file the paper work. I don't think Jeep is going to move until a lawyer contacts them. BTW the CRD is still broken and its been two and a half months. |

I would been on board on the news coverage thing. I just got my CRD back after 3 weeks, 2 weeks waiting for the alternator and 1 week waiting for the battery. They replaced my Optima with a mopar battery. The dealer was clueless about charging systems. Its just fustrating dealing with people that have to follow DC's book of rules. |

Wonder if DCX will blame other failures on the Battery? This is not OEM for the CRD. |

I checked their web and they claim that the Mopar is made for Jeeps and it is the only choice for OE replacement, so it would seem that all is well. |

I dont know the CCA's on the mopar...but in my opinion, a standard battery could never be an upgrade to an optima. |

The cold cranking amps for the mopar battery is 800. I offered to buy the Otima and and just let them install it. They told me it was a battery that was made secific for the diesel. Ater explaining to them there is no such such thing as a specific diesel battery tey told me I as wrong. I even had a email from Optima themselves stateing there is no difference between gas and diesel except the diesel needs more cold cranking amps. I will just perform all the work on the jeep myself. The turn around will be quicker. |

Ohhh I get it DCX can save money on cheeper junk but I can't put a muffler on my junk because the muffler they put on there was "made" for the CRD's EGR valve. yea right. |

Well, the Optima was used as a huge selling point. When they first came out, they were very popluar. But comparing apples to apples, CCA's to CCA's, they really is no difference in batteries electical wise. Now the mufflers...............they may have something going there because of back pressure and other variables that may have been designed specifically for the CRD. |

I suggest you visit the OPTIMA site and read up on the battery before you start with your "facts" ![]() |

As for the mufflers look at the Part # for all KJs. They all have the same Muffler. from 02 to 07. 4 cyl, 6 cyl and CRD. So how is it made for a CRD? If you loose your job you could go to work for DCX. |

Amazing that the muffler specifically designed for the Diesel is used for the 4 and V6 also........... |

I don't know about your settup, but I'm not planning on operating my Jeep up side down too often. Sounds like it is a battery specific for my sailboat during a capsize. Don't alway believe what you read. |
