| Post subject: | Boost Pressure Sensor Filter and other questions |
I was looking threw my owners manual last night and say that they said you should check the Boost Pressure Sensor Filter at every oil change. I was wondering where is this filter and what should I be looking for? Pics would be helpful also. Secondly I've been appalled by my mileage lately. In the past I've got as high as 29mpg on trips and a regular 20-22 in my every day driving. But now I'm down to 18 on the EVIC and 17.5 at fuel up calculation. This is worse than my bosses Dodge Ram with the Cummins. My 9k mile oil change is coming up so I was planning to replace the air filter then and see if that makes any difference. Do you guys have any idea. I would hate to think that winterized diesel is causing a 4mpg drop. |

I was told over a year ago so don't "QUOTE" me on it, that the Boost Filter was miss labled in the owners manual. Don't remember what it is really called, but it is the clear plastc filter thing just in back of the washer fluid res. It is about 2 1/2 inches long and about 1 inch wide. So far with 23000 miles on mine, it looks like new. I have gone to changing the air filter at every oil change (5000 miles) becuase I live in a very dry, dusty area, and I have read, that if it becomes too clogged, it "MAY" cause the turbo bearing seals to fail. |
