Post subject: | Transfer case stuck |
Hi, I got my CRD sport stuck in the mud today. I tried to shift it into 4-lo and the transfer case lever came loose like it turns freely but the jeep is now stuck in neutral. Is there any hope to fix this in the field or am I going to need to pull it out? Thanks Jake |

I've read of another having this proplem. It seems the cable linkage can just "pop off". The dealer popped it back on and ordered another cable. |

Were you in N? and/or forceing it. It is not hard to do, but takes more awareness to do on ideal surfaces. In mud, probably best to stay in the higher range to clean your tires. |

Jake, I am willing to bet that if the right person on this forum actually read your post they could tell you what to do after you pulled your CRD out of the mud, and provide pictures to aid in manually putting the transfer case into full time 4wd or 2wd. |

He is rob92xj I believe on the other forum. Super Tech. There was a recent thread over there about this very thing. You could PM him. |
