Got another CEL over the weekend and then this morning it set down a smoke screen for about the first 3 miles.

I thought maybe it was just kicking up road dust but the truck in front of me wasn’t kicking up anything.

CEL went off about 10 miles later.

I had it plugged in because they were calling of a low of 0deg. F. and always let it run for a few min. before hitting the road.

Any Ideas?

Was it white smoke?

Maybe your fuel filter had some frozen water in it and she was running a little lean?

mine did that once...turned out the way i routed the hoses for my provent was not very good the first time..the hose leaving the provent was pinched and caused pressure to build in the motor....smoke smoke smoke!!!

fixed it and it seems as if no harm was done.

Blue smoke = motor oil. Start checking your CAC hoses for signs the turbo is passing oil.

Dealer is ordering me another EGR valve, says that's what is causeing all the smoke when it's cold. CEL says its bad. I'm useing ULSD and power service at every fill up.

This will be the second ERG in less than 3000 miles.
