Is sent my CRD in for a service and it came back with the transmission over filled with oil, id take it back but have no time before my up coming trip. I need to drain some of the oil out as its pushing up the breather line. I had a look and do not see a drain plug. Am i missing some thing here? Its my first auto and not to sure about it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Are you sure it is overfilled? You probably already know this, but you need to check it after the vehicle has been driven for a few miles, then pull to a stop, leave it idle in park for a few minutes, then while it is still running pull the dipstick and check it again.

If it is too full, then you really only have two options:

1) Take it back and demand they correct the problem and try to get your money back as well.

2) Use a vacuum extractor like the pela 6000 or a hand pump to pull excess fluid through the dipstick tube.

The shop probably already has tools for doing this, so my advice would be to take it back. It is also important to have it documented with the shop in the event their error causes damage to your tranny.

Thanks for the replay, i have checked the oil level as you have described above. The level is just over a inch and half above the hot mark when at normal running temp, and on the hot mark when idling and cold. I guess you rite and it should be taken to the DC for them to set it rite.
It just makes no sense that they would have filled it up so high?

When they drop the pan and replace the filters, your CRD should hold 9 quarts of ATF+4 to be at normal level. Good luck with this.

Thanks for all the info i went and got a 8mm plastic tube and fed it down the the dip stick tube. I then siphoned out some oil. I removed 1.8 liters of oil to get it dead on the hot line when running at normal temp. But its still going back to DC as the TC is not locking when driving on the free way??? this is the second TC that was replaced by them :(
Thanks again for the help.
