Another TransGo kit.

CRD is in the shop today having the TransGo kit installed along with a fluid flush and fill using BG Sythetic ATF. Private shop of course and they are good. It will be interesting to see if anything in there is out of line seeing as how the dealer has already been in there twice replacing TC's and the like.

Make sure the fluid is ATF+4, otherwise you can have problems.

I just installed my Transgo kit last weekend. I replaced the filters while I was in there, and added a drain plug to the pan. I had the recalled filter that one of those TSBs was for. I cut open both filters and found a decent amount of metal flakes in them. Not sure what to think about that.

I like the kit so far. It took a few days for it to settle down. At first the 2-3 shift was very awkward. Now the 1-2 is the firmest, 2-3 and 3-4 are only marginally harder than stock. I'm not sure anyone could tell who didn't know in advance. It just shifts like a transmission should. Not neck snapping, and I can't chirp the tires on the 1-2 even if I try. I do notice it will hold gears a lot longer under heavy throttle.

I used Redline C+ ATF and it took a full 9 qts to bring it back to full.

I used a kit I bought at NAPA for about $7. It was pretty cheesy. The bung had a nylon washer to seal to the pan, and the plug had an o-ring I could see tearing as soon as it was tightened down. I replaced both with copper washers and snugged 'er down real tight. It's been two weeks with no drips or wetness.
