Post subject: | Scanner / Code reader question |
With all of the talk on the EGR thread I decided to look at getting a real scanner to read codes – I did some searches and didn’t find much information – sounds like a couple of people have Scangauge – but it only works for a short time before stopping, and other folks were looking at AutoXray or Proscan – but I didn’t see any results. So some questions – What kind of scanner / code reader do you have? Is it stand alone? Laptop software? Gauge mount? What do you like/dislike about it? If you were shopping – would you buy it again? |

I have an AutoXray EZ6000. Got it on Ebay with a $50 rebate. It is a versatile kit for ODB2 and ODB1. I've already used it on my Liberty, my Superduty, and my girlfriend's Aveo. |

I would like to know this as well. I am looking for something I can use on any OBD-II or OBD-I vehicle. I don't care if it is a laptop or standalone. My father-in-law will probably go in half with me on it. |
