The Raleigh area must be becoming a hot spot for CRD's. Saw a red CRD on walnut street in Cary across from Crossroads plaza about 12:30/1:00.

This is the first time I've seen another CRD in town in my 4 years of ownership. Chico, CA at east ave and 99. It was a silver sport. Welcome to the neighborhood.

Sighting #1: My CRD
I had some new winter tires put on last Friday in a shop in the greater Detroit area. Through the shop window I saw the hood up and the engine cover off and about 3 techs crowded around having a look. Apparently it was only the second CRD the shop had EVER seen. Although I live north of Toronto, Canada I spend a fair bit of time in Michigan. I think I saw another CRD on a MI interstate once - and only once - but it actually may have been in Indiana.

Sighting #2: My CRD - sort of
There is a lady-driven CRD which appears to be identical to mine in Bond Head, Ontario - about 5 miles from where I live. I have only glimpsed it about 3 times passing the other way over the span of a year. I saw her pulling out of a driveway once, and confirmed the house months later because the garage door was open. Inferno Red with gray plastics and always garaged.

I see CRDs fairly often in Southern Ontario, but spotting one in the US is fairly rare, and I ALWAYS check when I see another Liberty. When I was in the market for a CRD about a year and a half ago, I searched listings all across Canada. Any time I searched there were only around 35 listed for sale nationwide. Then a listing for a low-mileage one popped up. The seller was across the street and 3 doors down from my Dad's house - the house I grew up in. All the times I went to visit him I never noticed it sitting there. I bought it the day after it was listed and have been extremely happy with it.

Surprise, surprise. Saw one in Michigan at 10:45 this morning. I-96 westbound between Farmington and I-275. Black CRD with "HYDJACK" Michigan plate and stickers all over the back flaunting the diesel engine.
I was also approached at a diesel pump in Milton Ontario yeaterday by a guy who told me his wife drives a CRD. I told him about all the great info here at LOST Jeeps and GDE.

Saw another one today, this time at Autozone in Fall River, MA. I guess a Dark Khaki Green color Limited. Spoke to the owner, he bought it for $6000 from Kentucky. He has put over 40,000 miles on it, now is around 220,000. I asked about the 200K timing belt. Guy didn't seem to give a doo doo. UGH!!! That CRD sounded so different than mine. I would LOVE to get my hands on it and fix it up right. I tried giving him my info but he didn't want it. I guess I will be looking around when he snaps his timing belt.
