DocB wrote: What's BEST to clean it? Check the CRD FAQ page for any help you may need. This sensor is in a very hostile enviroment, built very sturdy and will not be harmed by disk brake cleaner, carb cleaner, or about anything you would be able to buy at the parts store. I would suggest the use of an old tooth brush to aid in cleaning.

My dealer tried cleaning mine when the check engine light came on. It didn't work for long. A week later they replaced it. |

Sometimes they just fail, but most of the time just a good cleaning is all they need. ![]() Unless you have an EGR that is failing and loading you up with extra soot. ![]() |

It totally destroys plastic and rubber parts, especially stuff with polycarbonate in it. Carb cleaner cleaned up my MAP to just like new! Your usually safe with carb cleaner, cause it's made for things intake related. ![]() |

My bet is on the EPA. |

I just used Gumout Carb/Choke cleaner with no problems; just sprayed until clean no brush. Bit of advice though; take care to keep the crud you are removing off you and your clothes as it's really nasty dirty hard to wash out stuff. You can imagine how I know. |
