Not a catch, just a membership of sorts that gives you your own account and gets you 15-20% off All retail prices. You will have access to Bosch products (not much for diesels though :wink:

), Mothers car care, Trico wiper blades, and all the Amsoil products. A PC membership runs $10 for 6 months and $20 for a year and you will easily save that and more on a purchase of $100. Honestly, the filter runs me $38 to my door so that is about what it would cost you on a PC membership (tax may be different) but then you can also buy the other products, oil, filters, etc. at the same prices I pay and through your own account and access on the Amsoil site. You will also get a monthly Amsoil news magazine w/ Amsoil racing info, new product info and such.

Um, so explain this again for the common man? Are we betting better air flow without complromising on filtering ability?

Any independent measurements to back this up. If so, sign me up.

I don't know of any independant measurements yet only the information that Amsoil has on them. http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/eaa.aspx

I guess it is just like any other product at this point, take it w/ as many grains of salt as you need. I do know that Amsoil isn't known for messing around on their testing and research into stuff like this as they pretty much only have their reputation to go on, not a lot of hyped up advertising claims like other companies. I wish I had the means to test it beyond just using it myself so I could report back that info. I have been keeping an eye on the one in my XJ and so far I see no signs of it letting through the dirt and residue I saw w/ the K&N on my other vehicles. I have also knocked the dirt out of it from a couple trail rides and it looks good still. I guess for now that is all the extra info I have to offer.

FWIW, I have sent our tech support a message asking for more technical info or of a 3rd party has tested them. I will report back when/if I hear anything. (bear w/ me if it takes long as Moab has me distracted and gone for a week soon)

Thanks! The air-flow numbers would be cool as those of us using the ORM now have the ability to use more air...almost TWICE as much as gets through stock filters. We have been looking forward to new filters....beats building a double air-box like I was contemplating!

Yep, and with the "ORM", the Amsoil OIL and EA AIR FILTER make even more sense. The ORM keeps our Particulate Matter down and keeps our oil cleaner so extended oil changes are even more beneficial. With a better Air Filter we will be golden. Now we just need a better Fuel Filter :wink:

Even in stock configuration, this filter may make sense. I think several oil analysis' (one at regular oil change interval before installing this filter, then one at regular oil change interval after the installation of the Eaa filter; then some more at longer intervals to "fine tune" air filter cleaning intervals. :wink:

I'd volunteer, but I currently have 4 Mopar air filters to use up before I consider switching.

BTW, below is the response I got from Amsoil tech dept.

In response to your inquiry, the air filters are tested at an outside test facility. They are performed using method ISO-5011, and the test dust used is API fine ultra course test dust. The G-2202 does offer some of this information and test information as well.
