Post subject:  Factory UConnect and RB1 Navigation?

I have been reading mixed messages about this being able to work or not, but does the Factory UConnect (built into mirror) work with the RB1 Nav Radio?
I am not looking for caller id to be displayed or anything fancy like that, but I would like to know if it will mute the radio/nav on calls and will the standard wiring be capable or doing this or do I need to build something special?

IMO the RB1 Nav is a POS. Mine added about 1.5 hours of drive time getting out of Michigan. Your better off with Mapquest.

Never had any problem with mine traveling cross country. I even had it bypass tolls thru Chicago and save me tons of money pulling a trailer.

It will work. It just mutes the radio. It does not display any caller ID information. There are no wires to cut and if you have Sirius, you can buy the additional artist/songtitle cable to get that info to display on your Nav Screen. You can only have two external factory options working at once: Mopar CD Changer, Mopar Sirius Tuner, Factory U-Connect. The Chrysler multi-plexer in the rear cargo area only has the ability to take two inputs at a time.

We like our RB1. Sure there are better ones out there but I think it works great. Too bad it doesn't have touch screen though.

On a side note, does anyone know how to take the radio/RB1 out so I can get to the wires behind the radio? I started taking panels off but I didn't want to strip everything if it wasn't needed.
