Hi What is this WOT that I see mentioned in some posts here? I drive a 3.7 Sport and with the price of fuel in South Africa increasing every month I think it is time to take a look at a diesel Liberty or Grand Cherokee. So I might be asking quite a few questions here over the next month or so |

Here in the USA, if we had to pay $7 a gallon on our wages, we would freak. |

No kidding! $7/gal fuel would bring the country to a screeching halt. Everything would increase in cost and the only people who'd get rich would be the oil companies, and they are already filthy stinking rich. They are really sticking it to the Europeans. You know dang well that it doesn't cost twice as much to make fuel for Europe than it does for the US. Someone is putting a lot of money in their pocket. |

Here in the USA, if we had to pay $7 a gallon on our wages, we would freak. Well I am not sure if a direct conversion is correct, but it comes to $0.90. Next month it will be about $0.96. To put this into some kind of perspective, I am in what is regarded as the upper income level. I pay more tax a month that what maybe 60% of the population earn a month. My after tax income (less life insurance, medical insurance and retirement annuity) is about $3000 and my monthly petrol bill is $300 - $350 depending on what I do weekends. Based on my wife's cousin's consumption on his 2.5 CRD stick shift, my fuel cost should drop to about $160 a month. How does this compare to over there: brand new 2.8 CDR Auto Limited is $53,641 in South Africa |

So does that mean pedal to the metal, as in floor it in every gear? |

For me, that would equate to a $700 a month fuel bill instead of the $200 I pay now. We are upper middle class here. $500 a month is still more than chump change. |

I could actually use the $300 dollars to pay the installment on a new small car like a VW or Toyota. If I don't come right in finding a nice diesel KJ then that will be plan B - buy a small run-around and only use the KJ for off-road and long distance trips. The KJ diesel is in such a demand here that the stealerships have a waiting list for used ones I am so off-topic in my own topic |

Hey, it is your thread. The original question has been answered. It's all gravy now. Libertys here run from 24K to 30k depending on the model and extras. |

Its hard to wrap your head around how the rest of the world lives without actually seeing it, so this is good to hear. |

Water... you know as it goes down the drain in a basin or sink. Here in the northern hemisphere it spins clockwise going down the drain. Supposedly in the southern hemisphere it spins counterclockwise or anti clockwise. I've never been in the southern hemisphere to see if its true.... |

Did you know that the magnetic poles have swopped ends many times in our past? |
