Went checking some of the race shops that supply the Nascar teams in the area, trying to find insulation sleeving to put over the fuel lines.

At one shop, Randall Race Parts, www.randallraceparts.com , they carried KoolMat insulation and sleeving which they supply not only to the Nascar teams, but are also now supplying Freightliner with insulation products.

Picked up 10 feet of 9/16" sleeving, 90 cents per foot, and 6 feet of 2 1/2" sleeving, $2.80 per foot. By contrast, Summit Racing's website wanted $28 for a 10 foot length of 1/2' sleeving that was basically the same stuff.

Main website is www.koolmat.com .

Besides the 9/16" for the fuel lines, I picked up the 2 1/2" sleeving as that looks to be big enough to go over some intercooler hoses.

Very nice find. I need some P/S line cover so I will check them out.

I have some of their (Koolmat) material insulating the trans lines on my 03 where they run real close to the exhaust y-pipe. I installed it when I installed my trans cooler. Not sure how much difference it made but I doubt it hurt and I had it laying around from another vehicle project.
