So, we just got back from Vegas last night (about 800 miles round trip) , all seemed well with the CRD. BUT, the wife gets in it to drive to work this morning, and PROBLEM!! What she is describing sounds like t TQ gone bad to me....Hard to tell from her description.... Had it towed to the dealer and I am waiting for the call |

And you didn't notice anything while YOU were driving it? |

Driving home Sunday it seemed fine....Had the cruise set about 83mph the whole way....Hind site, thinking about it, the rpm was about 2300 at 83mph on the way home, may have been a little less on the way down....don't remember. Our house is only about a mile off the freeway. I did turn off OD and it did not seem like it was slowing it like it should on the hill, but I had been going 80+ for 300 miles so i thought it was me. On her way to work yesterday (12miles) she did not notice anything until she hit the freeway, Says it was guttless, floored to go 50mph, would shift HARD when it shifted, reminded her of the clutch slipping on another car she had....once off the freeway, it would hold a low gear, then slam into the next, then seemed to be slipping.... Wish I would have had the chance to drive it, but the dealer is 20 miles in traffic and I did not dare.... Hopefully we will hear something this morning. Had to go home and put breaks on the PSD to drive to work....Not making any $$ off mileage this week |

I have had that problem a couple of times I would be getting on the freeway and it will seem to have a drop of power. I took it in and they got a code that said air in the fuel line. They bled the bleeder at the fuel filter and I have not had any problem since I think I induced the problem when I ran the fuel level real low one night and on the way to the fuel station I went through some curves and the mechanic thought that might have gotten some air in the line, causing the problem under heavy throttle conditions thus tripping a sensor to cut back on the fuel pressure or the boost from the turbo. Any way the bleeding of the filter solved the problem. Hope this info helps |

How many miles since the last fill-up? Our KJ is really picky about its fuel. |

Sounds like the TC to me. Mine did that and so I turned it off and it ran fine after that. |

Fuel-Just filled on the way home the night before, from the station it always gets fuel..... Air in the fule is possible, but I don't know how it would get there.... I picked it up from the dealer last night. They could not find any problems. The jeep tech, Dodge diesel tech, and the shop forman all checked it out and drove it, no issues, no codes. I put about 30 miles on it with no problem. I hate the wait and see, but that is all we can do right now.... I hate random problems that can not be re-created!!!! Been through this with the PSD too. |
