Greg,

My plug has a fiber gasket similar to the one with the fumoto. I also have the hex head plug and not the allen head socket plug some do. Maybe thats the difference.

Got the parts quick, thanks! Now just need an opportunity to install ;-)

While looking at the fumoto and the adapter I was wondering if there would be a larger fumoto valve model that could have the treads cut down to eliminate the adapter. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Michael

That would cost much more than the adapter. A CNC is used to make them and if you cut down a valve it would be one at a time.

Last oil cahnge i tried to put on the fumoto with the adapter and as I started to screw it on it seemed to go in there REALLY tight, too tight I thought so I backed it out and put the old plug in. Should I have forced it on there or what? Thanks

Quick Question - Does anyone know what the thread size is for our drain plug? there are a few other manufacturers of comprable products, and it's generally easier to just look at the thread size to match things up.

Thanks!

Is the skid plate standard factory equipment or an extra cost optional add-on?

CRD comes with the front skid standard just back to the pan. The one shown mostly here is the transmission skid. This is an extra as is the transfer case and gas skid unless it came with those as part of a package.

Ok - ours has no skid there, and the trans pan is dinged a little - if that's a factory option thru MrMoparts, then we'll look for one of those - won't cause any warranty problems for a 20yr old college kid, in case I get involved in a bucket-bender

Woops...... sorry about that! Guess I got off in the wrong thread......................

Has any one got pics of the fumoto valve with the crd adapter in place . It looks like it may stick down a good way with the adapter that is needed.Thanks.

It will be fine, if you have a skid plate it does not go past it. and if not, youll knock off your oil filter before the valve.

there is a thread with all the mods and changes you may need to do want to do or just wish to do one day but there are pictures and all it doesn't look bad with the stock mopar skids but look for yourself :)

One more time please (yes, I was sleeping in class): is this with or without the nipple, or both are fine?

I have the nipple and it barely sits below the skid at the access hole but the access hole is indented in perhaps a 1/2" more than the rest of the skid. I don;t think it is an issue but I also don't believe there is a point in the nipple for most unless you had a lift and you needed to direct the draining oil into a special catch pan. If you are working on the ground there seems little or no point to the nipple and hose. Some with the nipple have suggested sawing it off or at least part through so it it did hit it would break away.

I dont think this has been answered yet:

Does the 108 or 108N stick out past the transm skid plate? If it does I will not buy a fumoto drain valve, but i fit doesnt I buy one right away.

I have the "N" and it slightly sticks out, I don't think the regular model would and I don't see the need for the nipple. Even though it does stick out, it sticks out past a part of the skid that is recessed and it does not stick out past the majority of the skid.

Are the locking rings being used? If so what did you use to get it on?

Anyone running WITHOUT a washer or threadlock/sealer? How is it working?
