After your original has run out? My CRD has been in the shop about 4 times in the last year for CELs. I was gonna trade it in, but I will get butchered on money if I do that. So I might have to keep driving it past the warranty period. Which scares me with the way this thing goes through EGR valves. |

When my Buick was about to go out of warranty, I was contacted by GM to see if I wanted to by in. I already had my Geico Mechanical Breakdown coverage that had a $250 deductible, so I told em no. |

You can buy a Chrysler warranty up to 4 years and 48K miles. Much better prices online than at the dealer for the same warranty. |

Extended warrantys are all over the place. They are mostly a rip off. What's an EGR cost to replace? $400 maybe? If the warranty period was up, I'd do it myself for half the money. |

I guess if I can get the code read, and verify that was the problem, I could do that. |

-G Not true. Up to 48K miles and 4 years old. As for the discussion of price.... I normally never do extended warranties. But with the transmission problems I've had I just might do the Powertrain Plus warranty for $1100 to take it to 100K miles. Mine is only a 3/36. |

Before you do that, check with your bank or credit union. Many of them sell extended warrantys as well. |

But see, with my GEICO Mechanical Breakdown coverage, it is $250 deductible. That means if the $3000 tranny grenades on you out of warranty, or any other part, it only cost you $250. It cost me $6 a month. They give the service dept. a GEICO credit card number right on the spot to pay for the difference. No Hassles. |
