I just assumed it was understood that we were superior. I mean, come on, similar performance and better economy. Sounds better to me. |

Hey you should try it in our MB, it's an IDA engine. Think Ford PowerSmoke, these old MB's really rock. |

I figure with the difference in the price of Diesel to regular gas and my 26mph highway I am getting the equivalent of 40 miles per gallon in a gas engine. |

Hey, that is a cool way to think about it! But how to figure that out exactly? I guess that dollar per mile calculation someone did before. Lessee. Assume 25 mpg (seems average on this list) at $2.80/gallon diesel =8.93 miles per dollar of diesel in the libby CRD. Gas Libby 4x4 Automatic gets 19 mpg (better than average from what I hear, but lets be nice) at $3.15/gallon of gas = 6.03 miles per gallon of gas. That gives you a half again (1.48) advantage per dollar spent on fuel! >>edit: true<< That's like 37.5 mpg! >>>edit: so very WRONG, how come nobody caught my faulty logic? Are you all as senile as me? I can't get my good mielage to count TWICE. Can only multiply my mpg by the ratio of gas price vs diesel price. So it is really only 28.1 equivelent.<<<< The correct braggin rights formula is just: CRD MPG * (Gas$/Diesel$) = bagging rights equivelent = miles per gas dollar gallon |
