I looked in the FAQ's on the CRD section but did not find the answer to this question. I am about 20 hops (Hours of Operations) away from my new oil change and I have ready to install the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve. When I install the valve do I put on a new crush washer and put some Teflon tape/sealant on the valve threads or do I put the valve on completely dry? |

Use the fiber washer that came with the valve between the valve and adpter. Then re-use the metal seal that is already on the OEM plug. It goes on the adpter just like it would go on the OEM plug. No need for any other sealer. Greg |

I used the stock washer and I also added some high temp thread sealer. Figured it can't hurt anything. Been using it on my motorcycles for years. |

I assume you torque it to the same value as the plug. Correct? After my last oil change, I'll be buying one for the next one. I've never had nastier oil (soot) to clean up before this first diesel of mine. |
