 Let the bidding wars begin

We're probably going to be the only bidders on these.

The Gasser air box has a larger inlet and a snorkle that pulls air from just under the hood. The post 2.5 CRD has a smaller inlet that pulls air from near the headlight as well as bugs, dirt, rain and snow. Some have experienced wet air filters as a result and occassionally the wet air filter has also resulted in the motor pulling air and oil from the crankcase when it couldn't breath through the wet filter in the air box.

Using the gasser lower intake parts keeps the filter from soaking up water in the rain and dirt when its isn't raining, both clog the filter making the engine work harder, consume more fuel and burn oil. Here is a link to another discussion:

http://www.lostjeeps.com/forum/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=21828&sid=eb6e27c09e4d3432d46c3faedf21b3ff

I just ordered the parts from moparsuperstore for 101 bucks. They arrived today...figures.

I have started compiling my own link list cause I have a helluva time searching, maybe I don't know the trick.

Why did the CRD get the junkier intake? That little snorkel looks like a good idea.

What is the "deflector" described in the parts list?
