I am a new owner of a 06 CRD.
Twice over the last 4 days I have noticed, while lightly accelerating, a slight "clunk" feel and a change of RPMs at about 30 mph.
Does this have to do with the "locking" TC, perhaps?
The F37 was done by the previous owner.

Any similar experiences? Thanks

What you describe sounds like a normal shift or TC lock. Check and see what speed it happens at and report back.

The CRD will lockup the Torque converter in 3rd gear, if you are accelerating lightly it can feel funny. Do take the time to check your tranny fluid though. Idling in park, with transmission warmed up.

What Jeger said!

I have not had the F37 done so I am not sure about the shift point but the shift to third normally occurs in that range if accellerating, fourth at around 52 and fifth at around 63.

I notice when the CRD is first started (that is, cold) and accelerating very lightly the shift that occurs between 35 and 40 often sounds very mechanical.

Thanks guys.

It happened again today.... this time at 15 mph...

I can feel a "subtle lurch", like something is abruptly coming out of gear.
Maybe I am just paying to much attention to the F37!

I will be checking the fluids again, but it seems okay.

It is normal when the tranny oil is cold. I do not speed up the CRD at all when is cold, I go slow an it do it all the time; But when is warm it shift normal.

I agree with KenJennings, I have this happen too, and this is exactly when I notice it. In my case I notice it in the mornings going to work. When I pull out of my development there is a stop sign followed by a decent sized hill. Once I begin to accelerate and the hill causes the Libby to pick up speed, the tranny will act lke it is playing catch-up and it will "clunk" into gear.

Mine also does this. My wife drives it a lot and she has complained several times about it. My friend has a brand new Grand Cherokee and it does a similar "clunk" though not quit as severe.
