Post subject:  tranny problem help

well today on the way home from work i was driving along normally when the trans shifted hard out of OD. it was stuck in 2nd. then when i stopped it went back down to 1st and shifted fine till 3rd gear where it would stay for about a few seconds, then it would drop back into 2nd and stay there. about 4 miles down the road it shifted fine again. i just added the bigger tires so do you think the ECU got confused for a few minutes? sorry about the wierd sentences its hard to describe the problems over the net and im out of warrenty and dont need a expencive repair.

Sounds like you went into a real "LIMP" mode wherr the ECU or the TCU saw a problem and dumped you into the factory "LIMP" mode. If you are running ORM you wouldn't notice it as your CEL would already be glowing orange. I would read the CEL and see if it throew a code.

Should not be the tire size. I've been running oversized since about 500 miles on the ODO with no problems. Either limp mode or impending TQ and/or T-Pump death.

while i had the ORM code, plugged the sensor back in and it cleared the code but it had the same problem in the same spot tonight on my way home from work. no CEL. i wasnt in the f37 recall so hopefully if i have the pre f37 parts they will cover it. ohh and the tranny fluid was at the proper level, looked and smelled just fine. hopefully the dealer will take the libby in on saturday because i drive alot for work during the week and can not be without a car.
