Is the Liberty CRD even available in the U.S.? I did the "build your own" liberty on jeep.com and it didn't have it listed as an option. If they are available in the U.S., how hard are they to find? And do tuners for the CRD provide massive gains such as those a fullsize diesel truck can get?

On another note, I saw a 3.0 6 cylinder diesel JGC for sale on ebay, in the U.S.. Are they available to us here, or did this guy get his from overseas?

Thanks everyone

Libertys are 05 and 06 only - so you'd have to look for used.

The Grand is out with the 3.0 - but I haven't seen one yet - the prices listed were fairly high

I don't have a tuner chip - but the folks that do - have generally been impressed with the performance.

Do you mean they dropped the diesel option after '06, or the whole vehicle?

The diesel option. It was a two year market test more or less. Hopefully it leads to more diesel options down the line.

If you're still interested you still have the Grand Ceroke CRD option, but prepare to fork over the $$$

Hey Guys
While I was at the Dealer the other day, I drove one of the new GC Diesels. It's a hell of a nice rig I'll tell you. However, it lost a little of its luster when they quoted me $47,000.00 for the 2WD model and said to add about $6,000.00 if I wanted to go with a 4WD.

Anyone using a tuner chip on their CRD? What kind of results? What brand?

I have a SP Diesel module, It is flat out awesome :D . Crank it up to high output and have fun leaving the tuner cars in your smoke trail...

I've been running a Painless Diesel Power Module for about 6 months. It does a great job of increasing the power/performance, but doesn't do much as far as increasing economy.
