I need to get the blower recall done and I want to get the dealer to replace the intercooler hoses and clean the intercooler under warranty which means driving "on road". I plugged the MAF back in about a week ago and after many start/stop cycles ite CEL still hadn't cleared. Last night I visited the local auto parts shop and borrowed their code reader thinking I might have thrown a different code on something new but no. So I cleared it and drove home where I replaced the air filter. This morning I started up and another CEL which I presume is the MAF again. Anyone else found the MAF not working after extended ORM? |

I haven't tried to go back 'on road' in a few weeks- but you might want to check the connector and make sure there isn't soot, gunk, or oil in the connector. I could see how having the connector oily/gunky could make it not have good contact. Almost everything under my engine bay is just nasty with gunk. |

I have no answer but an interesting story... Unplugged MAF leaving work headed to the gym at lunch (at 21000ish miles)..drove ~10 miles...CEL came on...knew it was going to happen, but could not stand it being on. Plugged MAF in after the 10 mile trip. CEL cleared after 3 or so starts. Same week, with MAF still plugged back in, CEL started comming on and off after a few start cycles...I was confused, part store scanner said insufficeint EGR flow and low turbo boost...dealer replaced EGR that week, no CEL since (~1000K) and have not unplugged the MAF either. I assume unplugging the MAF and the EGR going bad are mutually exclusive, but I really do not like the little orange light on the dash ![]() I get 20.5-21 in town and about 26 OTR...but naturally wish I could get what the motor is capable of... |

I was experiancing a/c problems and plugged the MAF back in while on a trip. CEL went out after three stops. I ran the ORM about 12,000 miles with any other problem. I'm still debating if the orm cause the a/c problem or was some other gremlim. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Make sure you push the red lock clip in to make sure that it don't come loose again. |
