pin 1 goes to "1" on the PCB
pin 2 goes to "2" on the PCB...etc

wire 1 goes to pin 1 on connector
wire 2 goes to pin 2 on connector...etc

Rpwr1 and Rpwr2 each connect to opposite ends of the power resistor

Heres where the wires should be on the connectors:

Did you let any smoke out? Check your parts and traces if you smelled anything burning.

Moto_Scoot gave me a call and it seems his buddy who built it for him somehow miswired a few of the wires on the pcb.

So I just finally got around to installing my SEGR pre-built kit that I’ve been sitting on for over a year. However, I’m now getting a cell, P0103 that comes on a couple minutes/seconds after I start driving….. Actually the check engine light flashes on for a moment after start up then turns off… then kicks back on after I start driving. The code is always P0103. If i clear it, much like when I was ORM'ing it stays off tell the next start-up.

From my understanding, this is a MAF related cell. So I pulled the MAF last night, cleaned it with MAF safe cleaner and reinstalled it, making sure to the connection was secure. Again the cell came on, which I cleared and then called it a night. This morning, the cell came on as I backed out my driveway and put it into drive…….

I’m stumped. Is my MAF bad? Is there something wrong with my SEGR kit/wiring?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Chris

Either you mis-wired pins 1 and 2 or your box has build issue. The code P0103 indicates the voltage on the MAF input to the ECM is too high. Since this is the signal interrupted and modified by the SEGR, it's easy to mess it up. Check that your code goes away when you install the bypass plug - then you have no permanent damage. Ensure your pin 1 is wired to the MAF sensor and your pin 2 is wired to the ECM input. If this is correct, you may have a box build issue. Double check your parts are oriented correctly and soldered well with no bridges. I can always check your box out for no charge except postage if you need it.

Just wanted to add that I've had my SEGR installed for 2 weeks and I'm very happy with the results.
This is comming from a guy that's never ORM'd.

Anyone want an SEGR kit (unassembled) for $75 shipped? PM me.

Edit: it's been sold.

UFO,

I don't have a bypass plug and was short on time to put jumpers on 1/2, 4/5 and 6/7 to see if putting it back to stock would fix it. However, i switched wires 1 and 2, ended up code P0102..... does that tell you anything?

I felt like I did a good job connecting/soldering all my wires… should have done a continuity test before buttoning it all up.

Is it possible for me to damage the SEGR or MAF sensor by having the wires crossed?

Please advise

Switching 1 and 2 would probably give you a low voltage input to the ECM, so you probably have 1 and 2 connected to the correct pins. If you do make a bypass, it's 1-2, 4-5, and 7-8.

This MAF high voltage issue is not the first or the second time I've heard of, but I have not got any feedback on what causes or resolves it. All I can suggest is double checking the wire splices and pin/socket connections - those are at the highest risk of failure. If you feel your box is not operating right, I can test it and turn it around within a few days.

As far as damage, it is certainly possible, but I only remember one person damaging a MAF via miswiring.

UFO,

Got it to work! Not sure what was wrong before but after checking everything, putting it back together, eliminated the harness plug and hooking the harness directly into the SEGR box, somehow seemed to do the trick.

Thanks again for your help!

Hey guys, I wanted to see if anyone can give me some advise on a SEGR new installation problem. The build and install was easy and painless, however after the install fire up the CRD and took it on a test run for some reason it was acting like it was in limp mode / no turbo, I could floor it and it would just not go like it should and was crawling up to speed; never push it pass 30mph. I tested everything I could think of, rechecked all wiring to ECM and harness they were correct, I even multi-metered everything to make sure. The SEGR is blowing the 3A fuse at start up of vehicle, I can just turn the ignition on and the fuse is good with power to the correct pins, when I start the jeep it blows! I also got the following codes: PO489, P2141, P0102, P0402 (P0102) was normal for me (I had the MAF unplugged) I reconnected after SEGR install.

With Bypass everything is normal as it was prior to the SEGR.

Here is some pics of my board:

You've got diodes where caps should be and vice versa...C1, C2 and C3 should be caps, and D1, D2 and D3 should be diodes. You've got them swapped.

Thanks LocoCRD for pointing me in the right direction, got it fixed and is running good now.

On another note for some reason I continue to get code P0102 and it still has a shudder when I turn off the engine (may be normal, only CRD I've owned). I cleaned the MAF sensor and checked the connection(its appears good), I do run an over size air-filter with out the air box so the MAF sensor is secured to the air-filter instead on inside the box. Any recommendations or ideals anyone has would be great, I would really like to get the engine light off.

Did you have that code before your SEGR install?
