Seven years ago when installing a towing wiring harness I found the "prime" relay, fuse and wire" was there under the hood and connected to the ECM all ready to go and reported it on another thread. I traced the wire as far as the fire wall and another traced it further to under the rear seat where it ends. At that time it was thought, and details may be above somewhere, the harness from the gasoline model would have the correct wiring but it does not as built.
My CRD had air in the fuel bad and the intank pump solved it once and for all. also makes changing filters, I added a Cat2 micron filter, easy.

If you use the basket where the pump resides from the Cummins powered Dodge truck you'll need to use the CRD's original fuel float and wire arm or your gauge will be off.

Joe.

Everything Joe stated is spot on! Replacing the float using the Jeep OEM one is required; takes about 10 seconds to swap them.
Adding a 2 micron CAT secondary fuel filter like some of us have done is great plus for protecting the CP3 injection pump if you install an in-tank lift pump. The OEM filter is 10 micron at best and degrades from there!
An in-tank lift pump makes bleeding air out of new filters a snap. :SOMBRERO:
NO more air in fuel problems or worries EVER!!!! Any leaks are self evident!

In the power distrubition center under the hood it has fuse cavity f-17 labeled fuel prime pump and there is a relay (#38 ) labelled fuel prime pump. From the relay I traced the load side wire (brown with white tracer) to connector C-100 (behind the left kick panel) , there it changed to dark green with orange tracer. From there it goes to connector C-201 ( a black connector under the dash, just right of the steering column). It then changes to dark blue with orange tracer. Then it runs along the floor under the front left seat to under the left rear seat. If you pull the carpet up under the left rear seat you will find a light grey 10 pin connector. This is where the dark blue wire with orange tracer ends. I connected a voltmeter to this wire and with the key on It has 12 volts for approx. 15 seconds, and 12 volts all the time when running. I hooked it up today, no chance to run a long road test yet.

Hope this helps, let me know if any of your jeeps have this :D .

Great work Larry! I'm checking mine tomorrow .

Pardon my ignorance but how did you get the carpet up. Mine is very tight and I am afraid I will rip it if I pull up too hard.
