Since I purchased our low mileage CRD in 5/2014 I have replaced 3 of the window regulators. All have failed in the typical manner. I replaced them with the new design push/pull cable type regulators instead of the OEM cable screw type regulators. Yesterday afternoon, I lowered the front left window, but could not raise it. I figured the regulator failed and wasn't too concerned because I had already purchased a new push/pull cable type regulator expecting that one to fail soon. After pulling the door panel today I found the regulator had not failed. I plugged the new regulator in and it had the same symptom as the original; it lowers, but does not raise. I worked the switch back and forth numerous times and the regulator began working in both directions; sporadically at first, but it eventually worked every time. I am afraid it will quit again on my wife at the worst possible time.
Do you guys have any experience with power window failures other than the regulators? What is the most common failure besides regulators?
