I figure the more suggestions they get from us the more likely they are to actually make a replacement set, so get to it and let us know here in the thread that you nagged em for it!

I got an email back:

Sam,

Thanks for the enquiry. We are always looking to introduce new kits and this
looks like a good opportunity. Is it possible to send over sample hoses so
that we can look at the feasibility of making them? If we don;'t think it's
possible we will return the samples to you.

We will need to sell them through our US distributors and we will need to
guarantee a minimum number of sales, but I'm sure that we can come to an
agreement with you on a free set for supplying the samples to us, assuming
that we go ahead of course.

Best Regards
Paul Hinder

Sending him an email back now about it!

Who has an old set of hoses? I'd rather not invest in a new set just for them to play with.....

Maybe a call to my local yard with the CRD and see if they have a set still......hmm.......

Thats good, If you have that hose I think I might just purchase a new turbo to intercooler hose so we have a complete set.

I guess while we are at it, are there any other hoses we want to get replaced with silicon?

Yeah, all of them. But that is not in the budget just yet-- the inner cooler hoses I could swing.

Just make sure you ask for the new fluoro silicone type liner in the CAC hoses so we get longer life from them being drenched in oil!

I agree, we dont want them to base theirs off of a set of hoses that may be tweaked in some way.

Besides...I think they could afford to buy a set of hoses if they were really interested in making some for us.

Sam, dropped them a note as well. Also indicated this board may be able to handle a group buy :D .

Prices don't look too bad. I bet we can get the two fail prone kit for under $150. Maybe they can through in a matching EHM setup with chrome-plated plug for, say, $149.95.

Post subject:  OK - Just got an e-mail from Samco

Hello Scott,

Thank you for your suggestion regarding the Hose Kits for the CRD, I have had 10 + suggestions for this kit in the last 3 days.
What I really need is a set or part numbers of the stock hoses so I can have the tooling manufactured, any help would be appreciated.

Best Regards,

Mark Hale.

OK, those of you with the part books...can we get the stock numbers for him?
Mark's email is his first name with no caps@samc*sport.com (I can't stand bot-derived spam e-mail so I am protecting Mark's inbox...replace the * with an [o] as well in his e-mail and you'll have it. If someone sends him the part numbers, please post so that 15 people don't send him the same information.

Dear CRD Owners,

It is obvious from your emails that there is a major problem with the stock Turbo hoses on the Jeep CRD, We are willing to manufacture a kit for the Jeep if someone can supply us with a set of stock hoses or O/E part numbers.

Production would take around 4~6 weeks after we receive the hoses; this is due to the processes involved with manufacturing the tooling.

Please can you also tell me if there is call for the coolant kit on this vehicle to be made by Samco Sport?

I look forward to your thoughts and suggestions.
Best regards,

Mark Hale.

Hello Scott,

I think the hoses may need a Flurosilicone liner if they are getting heavy oil contamination, this would raise the price a little but worth it in the end for a reliable solution.

Let’s see if we can get some stock hoses over from you guys, then we can look at a kit price.

Regards,

Mark.

My Reponse:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mark,

I am less concerned about the coolant hoses. The price would have to be right for that. The turbo hoses are more a mechanical/safety concern due to pressure/heat involved and recirculating oil vapors that weaken the OEM hoses. This causes the hose to fail by either rupturing or disconnecting(disconnecting was due to clamps not being tightened from the factory or from coming loose as the parts broke in I guess). For this I will pay to correct. The coolant hoses would be for looks only and I am less likely to do this modification unless the price was right. Hope this helps with your decision.

Scott
