Anyone have CV joint(s) fail? Our '05 with less than 29K miles, seems to have one or more failed CV joints. When 4WD (Full/Part) is engaged, there is a very loud clicking once per tire revolution. It continues to click after shifting back into 2WD, but if we stop and back up a couple of feet or so, it stops. The sound is just like our minivan made when the CV joints failed. Thank you |

They want a fortune for cvs on the CRD. Maybe J.E. Reel could build you some better ones for the same cash? |

Are you sure that its the CV joints? As our vehicles don't have locking hubs, the CV joints are always turning, aren't they? |

correct, though when you put it in 4wd you put more strain on the front end than when it turns freely. |

Well - after a few days, and a thorough inspection by our excellent local mechanic - noise went away. We strongly suspect that it was a twig or similar. |
