I found this,

http://www.autoenginuity.com/products.html

They sell a Chrysler software add-on that gives you access to much more data off the BUS. see

http://www.autoenginuity.com/Chrysler-Sensor-List.html (search this text for "diesel", for fun)

This will let you see tranny temps, exhaust temp, EGR valve position, for instance. It also reads
" VM Diesel Status - Old Fuel Consumption" where VM is our italian friend?

Hardware + software = $400

Since the interface to the scanner is through a PC or Palm, all the data is recordable over time. Collect the data while driving around, then plot the data on charts.

I see this as a way to really find out what is going on, so that I can approch the dealer to do warrantee repairs prior to all out failure, for instance.

I emailed them about compatibilty with the CRD, and they are 'getting back to me".

Maybe some group pricing. What about a "club unit" that we check out like a library book?

Bill

The Liberty ECU is actually a simple KWP2000 interface. I can not guarantee continuous connection because I do not know how your vehicle is setup and if you have current network issues. I did the implementation on a liberty ’06 Diesel and did not see any problems when viewing the data. Plus a staple of ISO vehicles if you select to many sensors the connection can be dropped; this has nothing to do with the Liberty ECU it’s actually found on most ISO and KWP2000 vehicles in general
