Post subject: | Trans temp light issue |
My tranny temp light comes on after about an hour of driving on flat ground, weather the ac is on or not . anyone have an idea as to what would cause it . I have 41,000 miles and the f37 recall has not been done. what do you guys suggest? |

How long since the F37 and have you checked the tranny fluid level? |

I was putting off the F-37 for obvious reasons and the same thing happened to me. I had the F-37 done and it was cured but castrated. Tigafila |

Fluid is fine. the f37 has not been done. When I took it in for the lbj recal i asked them if they were going to do the f37 and they told me absolutely not it had no symptoms to do that recall. I asked about why the light was coming on and they stated they could not reproduce the symptoms but it does it every time you drive it for that long. everyone on here seems to agree the f37 sucks is there any way around it do ya think to fix the light. im not really a tranny guy. |

Either a short in trans. temp harness( doubtful) trans temp sensor bad(maybe) or your trans cooler is plugged from your torque converter coming apart (maybe). Could be low on fluid too. |

Buy the extended bumper to bumper warranty (7/100K) $1780 on line price a transmission rebuild would cost twice that much. I usually don't buy extended warranties but I did this time. If you have the 7/70 you are still good for while. Inorder to get the extended warranty you must be under 48K miles. |
