Just got back from taking the family and the new 19' camper trailer on vacation. The funfinderX weighs in around 3500# empty. With a decent amount of junk for four, we flew up the interstate to north Georgia. The CRD pulled 75 easy and smoked big rigs on the hills. The road into the state park is nasty uphill and curvy. In 2nd gear, I chased some old folks up the hill in their Olds. We averaged 15MPG pulling and love it. I am gonna throw in riderite airbags next week, as the rear dropped about 2 inches after hooking up. I should prolly ditch the stock tires too for a decent load range.

I just had a new DrawTite brake controller installed. It works better than any I have ever used. It was 200 bucks plus the 50 buck labor charge. No dragging or pushing.

Finally, a Jeep that works!!

If your jeep dropped 2 inches when hitched you should weigh your trailer's tongue weight. Jeep says at 300# tongue weight you need a Weight Distributing Hitch (WDH). In a nut shell they spread the weight over all three axels, the two on the jeep and one on the trailer. I have a 17' Casita trailer and it has 350#or more and the wdh makes a big difference. I have the Draw-Tite single arm hitch that is sized about perfect for our Liberties and what most of tow with them Danoid not included
