It is coming from the passengers side of the motor. It increases under acceleration. Seems to have less power. When running and listening with the hood up, there seems to be a vibration also. The vaccun leak sound persists for 10-20 seconds after I shut off the truck.... Any ideas on what I should expect from the dealer... I had my hands in there this weekend when installing new struts and springs, around the turbo area, seemed to be lots of black sooty oil on the turbo, but I didnt think much aobut it as my mechanic buddy said, "with a diesel, if it is not dripping, it is not leaking." Guess I am thinking turbo or fuel system, but I definately have very limited knowledge... Thought I would see if anybody had any ideas, it will go to the dealeer anyhow, i dont have the time or knowledge to fix much under the hood. |

are you not running an EHM or a provent? "Nix" has a great way on making and testing hoses for leaks, you might want to PM him. |

I have not dared to do anything under the hood. No ORM, no EHM, nothing. Paranoid about the warranty I guess. ORM is appealing, but having the CEL on all thie time is not. I was going to wait until warranty was up before I do anything under the hood. I have read about people "purging" filters and emptying water from the water/fuel seperator. Explainations? Guess I need to get into the service manual... Thanks again. |

I am betting that your hose to the intercooler on the paasenger side has slipped off or has a crack. Most seem to be failing at around 2 years/ 30>40K miles. |

Sounds plausible... im at 26K, 2 years, and would explain the oil in that vicinity. We will see what the "experts'' haha at the dealership say. Actaully I do not have any complaints aboput my dealership, yet. Warranty here we come... Thanks |

I got to know the tech at my dealership yesterday. He was a really nice guy. Said he was not supposed to replace the hoses until they were "dripping" but he ordered 2 new ones for me under warranty anyhow... For the embarrassing part ![]() |
