Take a look at the weight the 2.8L diesel is going to haul around! Think it's a VM? The HP and torque make me think maybe.... This could be good news for us if they come up with parts that mate to our engine with military specs. Bet the military version doesn't have fuel filter, ERG or transmissions problems.....

Somebody drew a real frame under the body in that concept drawing - built in Egypt will prolly make it difficult to get any EFI upgrade improvements over here, I would think

Woops, my bad - the wrangler did have a real frame

The new Wrangler, equipped with a powerful 177 CV turbo diesel produced by VM Motori at its plant in Cento (Fe), recently passed this tough and selective challenge with flying colours. The 2.8L engine can be combined with a 6-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission.

Isn't this backwards? I would love to have a REAL six speed in the jeep. With f37 it would shift into 4th at 50 mph, 5th at 63mph and 6th at 70 mph on the highway...doing 1800 rpms at 70mph. Just think what that would do to the torque converter... :-)r
