You should be careful nailing it from a standstill, as that's when the plastic stator is most susceptible, at 2.4:1 torque multiplication - with that said, try a Transgo reprogramming kit, will raise and stabilize apply pressures, can help smooth it out until you can get the T\C
The stator has no function after turbine rpm comes up to speed - it has no function at hiway speeds - but, if you crack it on a hard launch, it's straight downhill from there, particularly if the stator roller-clutch starts coming apart.
hey thanks for the reply i should explain a little further..
i never "crack it on a hard launch" as you say but when i mentioned under hard acceleration with the t/c locked up this was well over 80 kmh (overtaking speeds on the highway) again the shudder only ever occurs during T/CC LOCKUP with 3/4 throttle just before kickdown occurs..
