Also, what's my best bet for a fuel filter? I assume the stealership wants an arm and a leg.

Sweet!
Got around 28k on Mack---is it about time for a new fuel filter?
BTW, just did my first change with the Fumoto---pretty slick! 8)

I can't find it with the search function but there was a post some time ago on how to do a cabin filter mod with some AC filter material.

If it's at 28K miles and you don't know if it was changed previously, then it's overdue - 24 or 25K by the maintenance book.

Advice I've gotten from long-time diesel mechanics - change it once a year, just prior to winter, regardless of mileage. Eliminates any possibility of water in the filter freezing and plugging it up, and it just flat-out sucks trying to change out an old clogged-up filter when it's cold outside.

Cabin filter is strictly 'Do it yourself'

I'm a little bit behind on maintenance other than religious 5000 mile oil changes. I have to get around to doing the rear too. I know I read about an AM cover that allows easy changes.

I couldn't understand that link, does the KJ come with a cabin filter from the factory, or did that guy make one?

He made the filter for the Liberty. He added an aftermarket Hepa for the Grand.
