Post subject:  Dealer Installed Lift Kit

I dropped my CRD of on Friday for a bunch of service work and I was chatting with the SA about the ground clearance issues that I had on my Elk hunt. He said, "why don't we go ahead and install a lift kit....how much do you want?" I told him 2" or so and he said no problem they put some pucks or some such above the springs and you can run 245/75/16 tires.

I didn't ask how much or whose kit they use but it was interesting to see that the dealer has kits which would take care of any potential warrenty issues.

Has anyone used the dealers kits? Or know what they use?

I'm pretty sure Chrysler has never built any lift kits - so it's got to be an aftermarket kit -so find out which one (ask them)- actually most dealers work with local 4x4 shops for discounts and customs (typically wheels/tires) you might check around and see if one of the shops will talk about it.
I hope the tech who mentioned that, has only seen the kit and not how it's installed. I'd expect something like a Daystar - I'd be really surprised if a dealer wanted to install an OTT kit and warranty it.

The dealership I bought mine from sells/installs the 2" BDS kit for ~$1450. That's a rip-off if you ask me.
