I have noticed that when I engage reverse and start to back up, there is a noise as if something was loose. I also noticed a little bit of noise at idle but not always. Under normal driving conditions the noise desappears. Any clues ? has anyone experienced this and found the source ?

Thanks,
Ivan

That may be the tailgate locking, some kind of safety feature I think.

Our rear brakes sometimes chatter when we back out of the driveway in the morning. (Some folks call this "brake chuckle" too.)

The noise is metallic. It occurs in reverse gear regardless of outdoor temperature or engine temperture, at low RPM. Seems to be coming from the engine/ transmission bay. Could this be caused by loose engine mounts ? I am not sure how to check these mounts. Any help will be appreciated.

Have the dealer check your right engine mount mine used to make a odd sound when I would come to a stop and then again when I would take off from a stop and a couple of times when first backing up in the drive way the dealer put a socket on the motor mount and tightened it about 6 or 7 turns and the sound went completely away never to be heard again and that has been a whole year .Its worth a try.
