New 2.8L CRD Euro

The new one with different injectors puts out ~177hp @3,800 and 339ft#s at ~ 2100 rpm...can't find where I read it darnit. The numbers are something like that. makes me feel good about out 2.8L...not that big a difference...

That sounds really close to the numbers Inmotion is quoting for their 'Austrian performance' tune

any ideas on what fuel head they use? did they go back to Racor?

mmmm, and it's 15 kilos lighter and uses piezo's... I know what I'm going to source 15 years from now when the r428 stops kicking.... oh, wait, the chassis will have probably died by then

What I'm really amused by is that VM is kicking the arse of the big boys. There was a recent comparo in a uk jeeping mag that put the 4 dr jk and the new defender 110 with the ford puma duratorq head to head. The power/torque specs made the wrangler look like a bully compared to the landy, and that's WITH the engine that's a big improvemnet over the TD5.

My thoughts were that the diffs between the RA and R are not that big...and we know how to get at least that kinda performance out of ours. They are supposed to be able to get a bit more mpg tho...but again, not that big a jump. I am happier with my CRD everyday...fingers crossed :wink:

Based on the image on their page, it looks like some things are oriented differently. Not sure to what degree. They may have just re-organized the accessories for less drag on the belts or something and kept the block.

Those specs sound like the CRD they put in the JK Wrangler too. I love that engine, it sounds smooth as silk. At least smoother than my KJ

You guys might not know that but in EU the Wrangler has the CRD option as well, and the engine has the same specs as the KK CRD you guys mention.

With the Inmotion Stage II tune and other "standard" LOST mods, Ranger1's kicked out 185 HP at the rear wheels on David Dunbars dyno back in Sept.

As you all might not know but almost everything dodge,chrysler or jeep in the EU comes with a diesel option.

Makes one wonder how hard it would be to get it to meet US specs. I wonder if the exhaust systems being developed by Cummins and Isuzu could be ported to this smaller engine? Might be worth consideration by Cerebrus.
