My parents have a Chrysler 300 with a "Autostick" transmission. From Chrysler: Autostick - semi-auto transmission and a system designed by Chrysler which allows for manual selection of gears with an automatic transmission. Provides: Ability to manually select gears Ability to start from 2nd or 3rd in inclement weather to improve traction Allows downshifting while coming down steep inclines to maintain speed Improved performance with quicker, more firm shifts Is there any after market add on that would allow me to do this with the CRD so that I could force shifts rather than going to a certain speed, setting cruise and then slowing my speed down? Thanks |

The Hemi trucks have the same thing, but their 545RFE is controlled by the ECM - the KJ CRD has a separate TCM controller, but noone has so far developed anything for it - it's kinda mystical to the aftermarket, as it only comes in the Jeep KJ, and noone hotrods the little mule for the dragstrip, which would be the driving force for them to do something with it. I don't see anything, as of yet - I think it's still top secret proprietary stuff over at DCX |

If the TCM code is cracked, will we be able to hook up gear selection buttons(maybe like F1 style)? |

That'd be good, for all sorts of reasons - but is anyone working on it? We just barely got the Suncoast T\C, and that was only thru the efforts of several KJ CRD members, here, B4 I signed on. The squeaky wheel gets the grease................. |

Yep - but it's #2 son's KJ that's been gettin' all the grease - elbow grease, that is............ 
I can't imagine the routines being much different between the Hemi and the CRD - the ECM uses several processors, one for each major function - the CRD TCM has just been stripped out and put in a separate box for the KJ, prolly to make room for the intelligent EGR system - there's only so much i\o available on one pcb, even then some of the tasks are handled by another module called the 'front module'. The gasoline-fueled systems have three ECM connectors, incl the transmission controls, so I'm thinking it was a digital real estate crunch that resulted in the separate TCM for the KJ |

when Inmotion started advertising their tuning they mentioned that the TCM had a separate encryption code, it hadn't been broken. |

Ability to control gear selection would be a terrific improvement! In mountain driving, and when towing in the mountains (which is the task I purchased the CRD to do), the shifting behavior is very poor, frequently selecting the inappropriate gear. I find myself wishing I could just put it in the gear I want. Is there any shift kit that can provide some selection control? |

If anyone finds something let me know. I am tired of getting stuck behind a slower vehicle and having the liberty downshift becasue I am slow by one or two miles with no way to shift back up. |

Try unplugging the MAF for a test - see if that helps |

Yeah I already have the MAF unplugged and it definetly helps, but I just want to be able to upshift without accelerating to make that happen
