When the fumoto valve plug is in the pan and you drain the oil, does the plug fit flush inside or does it stick up inside the pan thus leaving oil in the pan? If it so, how much oil is left inside the pan? Map sensor, where is it located? I have 18,000 on my CRD and I just changed the oil, installed the Fumoto and changed the Air Filter which was dirty. I want to check the map sensor to see if it needs cleaning. When I stomp on it, black smoke is very visable, is this normal or should it be white smoke?

Fumoto:
If I remember from installing mine, the adapter was about the same size a the plug. I haven't measured it, but I'm guessing if that adapter DOES go up into the sump, it's not very far and percentage-wise, the amount of oil that would remain is trivial and probably about the same as you'd have remaining in the other chambers of the engine anyway.

Smoke:
Typical when the air-fuel ratio isn't perfect (like on semis under high-load starting in low gears). The computer does things like delay turbo spool-up to reduce this and consequently reduces kick, so anything you do that defeats the computer's features (such as ORM) will probably result in a slightly more smoky launch.
