i just did a search for M1-301 and came up with a Mobil 1 oil filter.. that grill blocker rocks! |

Fia makes the grille blanket. gofia.com The filter is the oversized Mobil 1 filter. Some had questions about whether it would clear the skidplate. I can slide my hand in between the filter and the plate so it clears. Cheaper than the Mopar one and better filtration. |

For what it's worth on the oil filter, I came across this the other day... good info on a lot of different oil filters. http://minimopar.knizefamily.net/oilfilterstudy.html Mobil 1 rated very well... comparable to the Purolator Pure One... Purolator is 1/2 the price. |

Do you drive with that closed? I would have some of it open at all times. It will push your iat's and exhaust temps way up there if fully closed. |

Nope, fully closed. If it ever gets above 50 again I'll open the center. Plenty of air gets in the opening under the bumper to keep temps under control. |

Apparently the design of that air dam on the front bumper really scoots air up there. Some have cut it off for clearance offroad and they have reported overheating issues in the summer in AZ while cruising, which are assumed to be related to that. This is just a guess, however, so consider it all heresay and internet lore. |

Let's not forget that if you're running the SEGR or ORM, your cooling system is now oversized by a healthy margin. Without the EGR flow, the heat exchanger for cooled EGR is not putting additional heat into your coolant. It's going out the tailpipe where it should. We now have a measure of overheating protection in the summer. In the winter though there is the possibilty of overcooling. Even with the grille blanket I can watch the temp gage drop a tick just while coasting to a stoplight in cold weather. Keeping things warm means I'm not wasting fuel turning the viscous heater so much. The ony downside I've seen is that the outside temp displayed on the EVIC is innacurate because the probe is now right behind the blanket. I've tried to relocate it over by the headlight but it's on a short leash. |

Any concerns with how that blanket might affect transmission temps, as it is also blocking air from reaching the tranny cooler? |

I have Alaska Tent and Trap winter cover on the lower air Dam and the front grill. You are right the lower scoop, while running on the highway to Seward I have to open the front to stop the temp from creeping up. In town not a issue running lower fully covered and front about 2/3 cover temps in town 20's |

The tranny cooler gets plenty of air from lower air dam. It's the bottom of the A/C condenser, as they are in the same unit. |

Made mine out of some Glassteel I found by the dumpster behind my office. Took the dremmel to cut each one, drilled 8 holes in each to zip tie and Voila...I have also finish the other two in the middle. The passenger side has a "custom...not fnacy" air duct in grey which makes it hard to see. |
