Just to chime in here.....

UFO's offer is a bargain. I did my own SEGR and it took me at least 10 hours.
I also ended up spending quite a bit on supplies.

Thanks Bill, I appreciate you sharing your experience. I have been on the fence on this since I am an EE and feel like I should be able to roll my own. However, my time is really limited these days. In addition, there is an advantage when someone cranks out multiple units of something because they learn subtle little tricks for more robust construction and cleaner assembly. I may look into at least doing the soldering to preserve a bit of self-respect.

Here's some self respect for ya: I assembled the board at my wife's office and showed her the PCB when I was done. What did she say, but,"Honey, those through-holes need a little more solder and you should hold the iron on a little longer to get rid of the oxygen in the joint. Yours are oxidizing already." That's what I get for marrying a EE :wink:

After lo this many weeks(months?), mine is still laying on the roll-top. Just can't find seem to find the time, or at least the time without 40 other things on my mind. I finally did get the lift pump/Racor245 job done. That was after going 200 miles to haul the little mule home. But that's another story for a long snowy afternoon.

Sooooo, in the next couple of days I'm going to send it and a M/O back to UFO to work his wonderous magic.

UFO, if there is anything I need to do besides just sending it to ya, let me know.

There has been some interest in having the SEGR kits completely assembled and tested for those who don't have the time or inclination. I am willing to help with that -- there is about two hours of mechanical assembly in completing the mechanical assembly and fabricating a harness. There is about $20 worth of additional materials as well. I propose: Starting with either a kit of parts or a soldered assembly, a completely assembled and tested SEGR box with an internal 3A fuse and a velcro strip for mounting. A 4-1/2 foot color-coded AWG18 harness, strain relieved and sheathed. (is this long enough?) A bypass connector plug to restore normal EGR function. An instruction sheet detailing the harness splicing, which wires to cut and which to tap. The installer is still responsible for cutting and splicing, using the materials and techniques of their choice. I recommend soldering and heatshrinking, but automotive splices and crimps can work if done properly. There is risk here I cannot reduce. The price is $125 if you supply a soldered SEGR PCB. This includes return shipping. If you have an un-assembled kit, add $50 and I will build it up for a total of $175. If you are interested in having this done, let me know, I will accept orders in two weeks, after I install and document my own kit. If you don't have a kit, contact LocoCRD or post here, and perhaps others may re-sell theirs.

End to end, after all was said and done, there was probably about $50 in misc parts and supplies and a couple long evenings with sour looks looks from my better half. That's what I get for marrying a EE Ha! I'm an EE, but I'm actually a semiconductor engineer involved with ASIC (microchip) design. All our work is done behind a keyboard, laying out, optimizing, and analyzing the placement and behavior of hundreds of millions of transistors. I touch a soldering iron maybe once every few years. I don't even have a fine-tip iron in the house. Maybe I ought to let UFO do the whole shebang... - Chris

Just so everyone knows, I am offering this service for all who want it. Just PM me and we can get it started. I have no kits, that has to come from either Dennis (LocoCRd) or from a member who isn't going to install it. For an un-assembled kit, I will build it up completely and test it for $175. For a soldered kit, I will finish it and test it for $125. The build will include harness, documentation, your box built and tested, and a bypass plug. I will need all parts included in your kit. Thanks, Clint That's all I need, thanks. I've purchased a Facet lift pump now, hopefully I can install that in a few weeks. I'm getting tired of bleeding that filter, at least it's not leaking, as the Racor might take a while.

UFO I may be in for this build up as well, i am on the buy list from Loco this go round. Right now i am feeling brave, but i have really got to look at the bag of parts i am getting. When my ego goes down a few after looking at the kit i may be contacting you.
