Post subject:  Strange OBD Codes

I am not sure it means anything, these may be spurious codes thrown off by my CRDs electronic system but I want to check in case I am missing anything. I am running the ORM 'system', when I plug my OBD reader in I usually get the ever popular P0102 which does not concern me. But occasionally I get these weird codes: 0004 and 3A00. When I clear off the codes and reconnect the MAF nothing comes up. But its strange getting these odd codes, do they mean anything?

I get the exact same codes running the ORM. Do you have any other mods? Lift pump?

I sometimes get these codes right before the code reader clears the codes. I thought it was part of the process????

The 0004 could be a fuel management code, prolly resulting from ECM inability to match projected fuel rate values when MAF is connected and functional - prollem is, you don't get the Alpha code, such as Pxxxx, Bxxxx, Cxxxx, or Uxxxx to specify area - since that is a generic-code reader, it is prolly P0004, for fuel management

Each DTC can mean 20 different things, each of which is specific to oem specifications.

The 3A00 may be a function of the reader, as it is in 16bit Hex - 0011 1010 0000 0000 - DTC's are strictly decimal, 0000 to 4096 - that could be the clear\reset code, or checksum verification that the DTC sucessfully cleared
