Does anyone know where the clutch pedal switch wire is in the CRD. I was thinking of putting a mystery/anti-theft switch in our CRD. One way to do this is to use the clutch switch circuit and put a manuel switch in the circuit then hide the switch. |

Does your CRD have a manual transmission? None of ours do - and with this being a public forum, it wouldn't be secret long...................... |

As long as he didn't advertise where the switch is or what it looks like, that would deter most would-be car thieves who count on a quick getaway. Only down side might be if the would-be thief is a REAL jerk and trashes the car out of spite because he wasn't able to make off with it. But then at least you'd still have the vehicle and if your insurance covers vandalism it could hopefully be restored. |

If he's got a manual tranny.....that's enough to tempt any CRD owner into a life of crime. |

The wiring diagrams make it sound like the wiring for a clutch interlock is present on the autos too. IIRC, it shows a jumper, but I have no idea where it is. Presumably, close to the pedals, but who knows. |

The wiring diagrams can be very ambiguous at times, even dead wrong - the V6 KJ's do have manual transmission - IIRC, C2-17 is TRS41, P\N switch. |

I wish it had a manual trans. Using the clutch circuit is a way to put in an anti-theft switch on the Dodge trucks reguardless of the trans type. On the autos it's just a closed circuit (yellow wire in the steering column I think) which can be interrupted with a hidden switch. I was thinking of doing it on the Libby. Just like CRD having lift pump circuit that isn't used, I wondered if anyone knew if it had a unused clutch circuit. Just a thought. I'll have to look at the FSM and see. |
