Why would you bother? The Jeep starts without the heater at least to minus 15F and people who use the heater report good heat after a short plug in time |

Increasing the wattage won't help if it's not distributed - all you'll get is coolant flashing to steam and sudden pressure increase, with release of coolant thru radiator cap Try a timer setup, with additional oilpan heater, set to come on a couple hours B4 you get up - there are good heater units that attach to the oilpan with thermally conductive adhesive - another type inserts into the dipstick tube Won't B instant heat, but should be warm by the time you're ready to leave |

The best cure for a desire for instant heat in the morning is a heated garage. Anything less is futile. |

My block heater (stock) works great. I see no need for changing. I have it set on a timer, and it turns on 3 hours before I leave. Jeep starts instantly and the glow plug light flashes only for an instant (maybe a 1/10 of a second). |
