I figured I'd better ask this before I ended up between a rock and a hard place.

The dealer that originally had my CRD in SC neglected to put an owners manual in it before they drove it up to the dealer in NC that I was buying thru. Instead of mailing the manual, they told the my dealership to "just order a new one". So I might be without an owner's manual for quite some time.

That also means no reference for fluid capacities and recommended replacement fluids, such as antifreeze, engine oil, power steering fluid, brake fluid, etc. It'd be just my luck to have to top off one of these prior to getting the manual. The only one I do know for sure is what goes in the fuel tank. :?

If someone wouldn't mind, could you give me a quick rundown on the fluid capacities and the recommended types of fluids, Mopar/Chrysler and/or over the counter from the local auto parts store?

I'd hate not being able to drive my baby just because I don't know what type of antifreeze I can put in it.

We use the HOAT type radiator fluid. I know Valvoline makes a compatible fluid, don't mix the green stuff!

Power steering fluid is ATF+4, Chrysler specific, I buy from the dealer
Transmission fluid is AT+4 see above.

Oh forgot motor oil...there are several threads on this topic but book says 0w-40 Mobile 1 or 5w-40 Mobile 1if 0w isn't available.

If you have the optional trac-loc rearend there is a friction modifier that must be added to the gear lube.

I found oil capacities at www.amsoil.com in the section lube reference.
In CRD engine I personaly would never use oil which has no proper diesel specification in case of KJ CRD I go for CI-4 plus, since it has coolant cooled EGR valve (hence CI-4 was introduced). Some car manufacturer are trading off the engine life for emission passing and enviroment protection. So they simply put 0w-40 weight oil in the engine to lower fuel consumption and subsequently lower the air polution. They also allow for more oil use betveen oil changes up to 1L per 1500km is still normal oil consumption as per Daimler Chrysler ( and even more for some others). Changing oil sooner seems to work for me since I don't add any oil betveen oil changes.
I use Amsoil series 3000 which is 5w-30 CI-4+ rated and I used it in my MB Vito CDI ( 4 of them in total) always with good result and excelent fuel economy. I change my oil every 8,000 km ( short trips and city driving -mostly).
