I have noticed that when I engage reverse and start to back up, there is a noise as if something was loose. I also noticed a little bit of noise at idle but not always. Under normal driving conditions the noise desappears. Any clues ? has anyone experienced this and found the source ? Thanks, Ivan |

Thanks, Ivan That may be the tailgate locking, some kind of safety feature I think. |

Our rear brakes sometimes chatter when we back out of the driveway in the morning. (Some folks call this "brake chuckle" too.) - Chris |

The noise is metallic. It occurs in reverse gear regardless of outdoor temperature or engine temperture, at low RPM. Seems to be coming from the engine/ transmission bay. Could this be caused by loose engine mounts ? I am not sure how to check these mounts. Any help will be appreciated. |

Have the dealer check your right engine mount mine used to make a odd sound when I would come to a stop and then again when I would take off from a stop and a couple of times when first backing up in the drive way the dealer put a socket on the motor mount and tightened it about 6 or 7 turns and the sound went completely away never to be heard again and that has been a whole year .Its worth a try. |
