I bought a snorkle. I am thinking about running the vent lines from the trans, transfer cases and diffs to the snorkle, but have a question. Do I run the risk of the intake vacuum in the snorkle sucking the fluids out of the diffs, transmission and transfer case? I know that when the turbo spools up, there will be a lot of vacuum in the intake. Is this a legitimate concern? I'd like to hear the opinions of some of the more mechanically inclined about where I'd be best off routing the vent lines (please be gentle, guys, I'm not in the same league with most of the more experienced guys in this forum).

I think if your intake generated enough of a pressure gradient to draw fluid out of your diff, you'd have other issues :) If, however, you were to run the vent tubes all the way up the inside of the snorkle then your fears would be alleviated. Seriously, though, what are you going to be fording in the electronically controlled KJ that will be THAT deep? Taking it to the top of the engine bay gives you nearly the same benefit unless you are completely submerged.

Thanks dgeist. Maybe you're right, the level of the dash or cowel is enough. I'm not planning to ford much of anything deeper than three feet (at least not on purpose). I just want to run the vent lines high enough that I don't have to worry about changing the fluids each time I bury the axles.
