so without the adaptor subtract ~1/2 inch

Unlikely since the previous model (with the adapter inline) comes just flush with the bend in the factory skid).

Looks like the new model comes with the same gasket. Is recommended fitment with that one or the factory copper washer?

The $60 kit includes one filter, instructions, and the machined replacement threaded core (mates the factory head to the CAT filter). Other than the internal thread difference, the cat fits right up against the factory unit.

The CAT conversion is a machined adaptor and the filter - housing is not included

and if you're currently having air in fuel issues - the CAT seems to make that worse
however if you've not - it's a much better filter.

unfortunately it is a bright yellow signal to dealers that it has been modified and they may have an excuse to deny warranty claims - even those totally unrelated to the filter....

Ya I have read all the posts. I just carry a ton of cat filters where I work so it would be very convienent to have that setup. And no air in system issues for me Yet anyway 49500 mi.

I got mine today without the nipple. I will see next oil change how it fits. Next oil change will be before the cross country trip March 15.

Is this a replacement for the plug with the torq head or the standard hex head. Am i misunderstanding that they have a different thread size.

This is a replacement that screws directly in to the stock oil plug on a CRD (an allen head bolt). It is a neat little valve that will allow you to drain the oil without ever having to remove an oil plug again (as it replaces the plug).

The problem with the stock plug is the odd Brittish thread pattern and the soft aluminum of the CRD oil pan. Stripped threads are common. The new fumitomo is threaded to match the pan and screws in with no adapter.

As i understand though the later models and the dealership offers a standard hex head drain plug. The way I understand it the hex head drain plug was meant as a replacement for after the female headed drain plug had stripped out the oil pan.

I currently have this hex head drain plug. The question, stated more plainly is.
Will this drain valve work with my style drain plug.

The pan was not changed simply the plug was by some dealers. If yours was never stripped then the Fumoto should work but it is threaded for OEM of the original pan.

Is the F102 threaded in the drain end? Or is it just smooth inside? I'd like to keep it as short as possible and thought, (if its threaded inside), that a nipple could be hand threaded in at drain time.

If not..

Can the nipple be un-threaded from the F102N?

The nipple is forged with the valve. It cannot be removed.
